How to read a value bet

Every row on this page is a price that sits above the no-vig fair line implied by the sharp bookmakers. The percentage is the edge: how far the offered price exceeds the fair one. A 5% edge at odds the market prices carefully is worth more than a 15% edge on a thin league where the fair line itself is a guess.

The discipline is taking the price, not the pick. If the number has already dropped to the fair line by the time you reach the bookmaker, the value is gone and the bet no longer exists. Checking the current board first is the whole routine.

Value appears the moment a sharp book moves and a slow book lags. The dropping odds tracker shows those moves as they happen, and the Terminal streams them live with the fair price attached. Judge the results with the free CLV calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What is a value bet?
A value bet is a price higher than the true probability of the outcome implies. If a fair price for a win is 2.00 and a bookmaker offers 2.20, backing it is profitable in the long run even though any single bet can lose. Value comes from the price, not from picking winners.
How is expected value (EV) calculated in betting?
Expected value is the offered odds multiplied by the true win probability, minus one. At odds of 2.20 against a fair probability of 50%, EV is 2.20 x 0.50 - 1 = 0.10, or +10%: an average of 10 cents profit per dollar staked over many such bets.
How does OddsHub find value bets?
OddsHub derives a no-vig fair price from sharp bookmakers, Pinnacle above all, then flags any book offering meaningfully more than that fair price. Sharp books take large bets from winning players, so their line is the best public estimate of true probability.
Are value bets guaranteed to win?
No. A value bet loses as often as its probability says it will. The edge only shows over hundreds of bets, which is why bettors judge themselves by closing line value rather than short-term profit. Expect long losing runs even when every bet you place is genuinely +EV.
Is the OddsHub value bets feed free?
Yes, up to a 3% edge. The feed on this page is free, covers every sport OddsHub tracks, needs no account, and compares 365+ bookmakers against the sharp fair line in real time. Bets above 3% EV are reserved for the paid EV+ Scanner, and the page tells you how many it is holding back.
